The Lise Meitner research group ‘Cognition and Plasticity' focuses on adaptive plasticity in neural networks for different cognitive functions across the adult life span – in the healthy young and aging brain as well as in patients with brain lesions. New PhD students are welcome to support our team in the following main lines of research:

  1. Mapping and probing interactions in large-scale neural networks for different cognitive functions (e.g. language, social cognition, attention)
  2. Mapping interactions between domain-specific networks and domain-general networks
  3. Identification of generic mechanisms of adaptive plasticity across the adult life span using multi-method approaches (non-invasive brain stimulation, neuroimaging, EEG, computational modelling)
  4. Plasticity and reorganization in the language network after brain lesions
