This 3-day hands-on workshop will give a thorough introduction to Matlab, without assuming any prior knowledge of programming (in Matlab or any other language). We will start with a general overview of Matlab, look at the various ways of how to get help in Matlab and will use it as a simple pocket calculator, introducing variables along the way. We will then delve into basic operations on vectors and matrices and will also briefly look at non-numeric data. Once these basics are established, we will cover conditional statements (if-else) and iterative statements (loops) and will work on writing simple scripts. We will also look at how to get data into and out of Matlab and how to plot data in various ways.
