Research Interests

Prof. Dorothee Saur, Neurologist at the University of Leipzig, is interested in studying the functional neuroanatomy of language and the mechanisms of neuronal plasticity of language recovery. In particular, her laboratory investigates the dynamics of language recovery from acute to chronic stroke and how neuronal plasticity can be promoted in order to effectively ameliorate the recovery process. Methods applied in Prof. Saur’s group mainly include functional and structural MRI and non-invasive brain Stimulation in combination with neuropsycholocial and language testing.

Available PhD projects
